This is a great smoothie to start your new year! I sweetened it with dates and if you haven’t used dates for a sweetener you should definitely try them. Besides the sweetness they add some texture and thickness to the smoothie. I don’t like my smoothies really thick, but if you do you can just add a little less almond milk to this recipe. I use a Vitamix blender for all my smoothies and it is very high powered. You can use a different blender, but you might have to blend a little longer to get rid of the chunks.
Almond Milk- Cherry Smoothie

Ingredients
- 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
- 1 cup frozen cherries
- 1 frozen banana
- 4 dates - I used Organic Medjool Dates
Instructions
- 1. Soak the dates in warm water for about 5 minutes. Remove the pits from the dates and roughly chop softened dates
- 2. Put almond milk into Vitamix or other high powered blender and add dates. Blend until dates are liquified.
- 3. Add frozen cherries and frozen banana to the blender and blend thoroughly.
- 4. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
